Arcade Fire - one of the very best bands in the world - are about to release The Suburbs, their third album on August 3rd. Their debut album, Funeral, is one of the best albums released in the last decade, and their second release, Neon Bible, was my Album of the Year for 2007. So needless to say, words cannot describe my excitement.
As an album kick off, AF will be simulcasting their Madison Square Garden performance on-line on August 5th. As if that weren't amazing enough, the simulcast will be filmed by Terry Gilliam, he of legendary Brazil/12 Monkeys/Fisher King/Fear and Loating In Las Vegas fame.
Cool cool cool. Can't wait. Mini-set for the performance can be found here.
I cannot believe that I lived in Wisconsin all those years and never went to the Hamilton Type Museum in Two Rivers. I was vaguely aware of it's existence. Now I'm dying to go there. Because of the economy, they may have to close their doors. This is horrible.
Watch the trailer, then support them. I know I am going to.
